Grace Christian Fellowship was founded in 1993 as a transplanted, spirit-filled, former United Methodist congregation. After serving in churches in Missouri and Texas for several years Brian and Pam Sharp were called to help give birth to this new phase of ministry. On the first Sunday – June 13, 1993 – there were 170 in attendance. Three months later GCF was chartered on September 19, 1993 and baptized 38 people in the Black River.
Worshiping in a Christian school gymnasium for 2 years the congregation raised money, searched for and purchased land, drew up plans for a new facility and began to build. Our 20,000 square foot facility was built mostly by volunteer labor provided by members of the congregation. In April of 1995 the GCF family began worshiping in the basement while continuing to finish out the main floor. One year later the building was completed and worship was enjoyed in the sanctuary for the first time. On September 8, 1996 the new building was dedicated and God was glorified in a joyous time of praise, worship, prayers and preaching. Fifteen years later our building was paid off as God demonstrated His faithfulness through His faithful people.
Since that time we have endeavored to be faithful stewards and diligent workers of the ministry God has entrusted to us. We understand our ministry is not limited to our own congregation, but the Southeast Missouri area and other nations as well.
